MOM Day 2: A Session on Discipline & Inspiration at IIBS Bangalore

The day started with a session by Professor Jigyasa Narang on "Relationship between Finance and accounting – how it affects and what is the current role". The objective of this session was to impart knowledge about accountancy to the students and enhance their skills on this subject. She also gave an insight into the essential attributes of finance that Finance is not merely about making money. It's about achieving our deep goals and protecting the fruits of our labor. It's about stewardship and, therefore, about achieving the good society. The students were asked about their interests. Their doubts regarding the subject were cleared and they were able to gather more information about the role and importance of Finance & Accounts in the corporate world.

This was continued by a session on “Discipline & Inspiration”, facilitated by Brigadier Sunil Mudgil. Discipline is one such aspect of life without which one cannot get success in life. Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. You have to be very determined and disciplined to achieve your goals in your life. This session helped the students to bring in the sense of discipline in them so that they could be disciplined from the very starting of their journey. Failures do come and go in life but to gain success in life, one has to go through sheer determination and discipline. Students were motivated and encouraged by this session.

To give a better clarity to the students about their “Career and Life” another session was organized by Ms. Samantha Fotedar, Manager Hr Vishesh Infotech Pvt. Ltd. These are the budding futures and if they are trained and guided well, these could prove to be to be assets. Since they do not hold any experience about the corporate, they need to be nurtured in a manner that they are made well aware of the world outside. She also gave some tips that support the qualities for a better person such as The greatest challenge each day is to regulate your ego; too little of it, and you waste your potential, but too much of it and you waste everyone else's potential.Students were able to clear their doubts regarding the professional world and could grasp more about the same.

The day culminated with the feedback of students so as to understand their learning and expectations out of the sessions.
