For the MBA/PGDM 2021 Batch students, IIBS organized an international tour that took place from November 23 to November 27, 2023. The objective was to introduce students to the dynamic economic environment of the United Arab Emirates and to offer first hand insight into global business practices. The purpose of this trip was to provide a comprehensive learning experience by combining academic understanding with real-world exposure.

Its main objective was to explore Dubai's diverse business environment and its global strategic significance. Additionally, the tour aimed to connect students with leading corporations, industries, and business professionals through site visits, seminars, and networking events. This exposure would help students grasp cultural nuances and their impact on business conduct in the Middle East, fostering cross-cultural understanding and collaboration among peers.

The five-day tour included an itinerary that was diligently planned to combine educational activities with cultural immersion.

  • Day 1 began with orientation and introductory sessions on Dubai's economy and business landscape, followed by a city tour highlighting iconic landmarks like Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, and Jumeirah Mosque. The day concluded with a dhow cruise dinner.
  • Day 2 focused on cultural exploration through visits to historical landmarks, museums, and traditional markets. An adventurous Desert Safari and a traditional Bedouin camp experience, complete with entertainment and a BBQ dinner, added to the day's excitement.
  • On Day 3, students visited Burj Khalifa for breathtaking views and explored the opulent Dubai Mall for shopping and dining. The afternoon offered an opportunity to attend an Alumni Meet organized by the IIBS Alumni Association, Dubai Chapter.
  • Day 4 took students to Abu Dhabi, where they visited the stunning Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and enjoyed Ferrari World, an amusement park celebrating the Ferrari brand.
  • Finally, on Day 5, students visited Heriot Watt University, enjoyed a Limousine ride, and explored the gold souk and other shopping areas.

The tour provided practical insights complementing classroom learning and left an enduring impact on the students. It enhanced their understanding of global business strategies and their application in dynamic markets. Moreover, it strengthened professional networks, opening potential avenues for internships or future career opportunities. This exposure not only enriched their academic knowledge but also fostered personal and professional growth, preparing them to be adaptable and agile future business leaders in a globalized world. Overall, the tour was transformative, significantly impacting the students' learning and development.
