Online Workshop on Hydroponics | MBA in Data Science in Bangalore

Posted by Prof. Mangala Vijayakumar Reddy On 12/10/2022 09:46:39

For the New Batch students of the 2022 batch, IIBS organised an online workshop on hydroponics. Prof. Mangala V. Reddy, Prof. Archana, Y. C., and Dr. G. N. Nagaraja coordinated the event. Mr. Havyas K S, CEO, and co-founder of Beegle Agritech served as the resource person. At 3:30 pm, the workshop began in earnest in Seminar Hall 2.

The speaker holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Marketing from Bengaluru's University of Agricultural Sciences and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Ahmedabad's Entrepreneurship Development Institute. While pursuing his MBA, Mr. Havyas began his start-up career in 2019, and for the past two years, Beegle Agritech has been at the forefront of providing farmers with cutting-edge Agritech solutions.

The resource person has covered every aspect of hydroponics. Plants can be grown indoors using the hydroponics technique without the need for soil. Plants receive all of their nutrition through a nutrient solution that is delivered to their roots, as opposed to drawing the mineral minerals required for growth from the soil.

Growing several plants in a large-scale commercial enterprise up to a modest collection of herbs in a kitchen is all possible with hydroponics. Hydroponic growth is extremely advantageous for people who have little or no outdoor space, such as city dwellers, apartment dwellers, or renters who are unable to have an outdoor garden.

• Cutting-edge greenhouses that are climate-controlled, together with cutting-edge horticulture and engineering methods, are used to maximise crop yield, crop quality, and food safety all year long. good MBA colleges in Bangalore

• Businesses employ growing beds that can be stacked vertically up to five stories high. These beds use less than 1% of the space needed for conventional growing, which is valuable in highly populated urban areas.

Produce cultivated hydroponically is grown in nutrient-rich water devoid of pesticides, collected once a week, and supplied to retail locations in a matter of hours. Living lettuce gets its name from the fact that the roots are still present, extending its shelf life. MBA in data science in Bangalore

Hydroponic produce is harvested a few hours before it is served, thanks to the use of artificial intelligence and data analytics software by hydroponic companies to measure key variables that aid in food and agricultural planning. Urban hydroponic farms' close proximity to customers enables businesses to obtain a longer shelf life.

Hydroponic produce is more nutritious, fresher, and has a longer shelf life, all of which contribute to a healthy ecology. Additionally, the controlled growing system makes it possible to produce food WITHOUT the use of ANY hazardous chemicals and is 100% residue free. This technology aids in the conservation of precious water, land, and labour resources.

Even though there are other metabolic pathways involved in plant growth, water, sunshine, and vital nutrients are the three major factors that drive plant growth. In a conventional garden, the soil holds the plant in place and serves as a storage area for nutrients and water. By giving the plant's roots a nutrient-rich aqueous solution that keeps them hydrated and fed while additional lighting options simulate sunlight, a hydroponics system eliminates the need for soil.

In a hydroponics growing system, plants are either cultivated in a soil-free medium like coconut coir, rock wool, LECA, vermiculite, or perlite, or they are suspended directly in the aqueous solution. Either an active system or a passive system is used to provide the nutritional solution to the plant's roots.

Passive systems lack pumps and moving parts, whereas active systems use pumps to circulate and aerate nutrient solutions, delivering the nutrients to the plant's root zone for uptake. Through flooding, gravitational force, or capillary action, the nutrient solutions are delivered to the root zone.

The session was really informative and interesting. Each and every student engaged in conversation with the resource person and actively participated in the session.
