IIBS has scheduled an MDP on Time management for all employees and management on July 5, 2022, at 2.45 p.m. in Seminar Hall 1. Dr. Jay Prakash, Hon. chairman of IIBS, drove the session. Stephen Covey's Four Quadrants were emphasized by the speaker. And he instructed all employees to jot down these concepts while performing time management.

He also emphasized time management by setting goals based on organizational needs and allocating time-based on the goal or destination. After establishing a goal, it is necessary to plan and allocate time using the four quadrants listed below:

  • Important and Urgent
  • Important and Not Urgent
  • Not important and Urgent
  • Not Important and Not Urgent

  • The speaker recommended everyone plan for success using this strategy. Even he made aware that if faculty plan regular classes, mentoring sessions, experiential learning activities, and documentation for NAAC, NIRF, and NBA, it will undoubtedly lead to the organization's development.
  • Then he explained that the next step in time management is time blocking. Everyone should focus on the practice of planning out every minute of their day in advance and dedicating specific time "blocks" for specific tasks and responsibilities when it comes to time blocking. Then, implement it on a weekly and monthly basis, and it will eventually lead to organizational success.
  • As the next step, he briefed time boxing. Many people approach their work one task at a time, focusing on each until they complete it, no matter how long that takes. Timeboxing is distinct in that it encourages people to focus on time rather than tasks. To use this time-management tool, people should set aside a certain number of hours or days for each activity, alluded to as a "timebox." Both times blocking and timeboxing involve allocating fixed time periods to activities; however, time blocking entails strictly reserving time for an activity, whereas timeboxing entails limiting the amount of time you spend on it.
  • The next step, according to the speaker, was to manage your time by creating a list of your goals to achieve. Even so, It is critical for 'benched' employees to be active and demonstrate that, even if they are not currently working on a project, they are making good use of their time.
  • When cell phones are used in the workplace, it causes issues ranging from disrupting work to simply wasting time. It is therefore preferable not to use the phone except in emergency situations.
  • Last but not least, keep a proper work diary and a weekly report on task completion because it shows a clear picture of how everyone used their time efficiently at work.

It was a learning experience for all employees and management. It would also assist them in rating and gauging their own level of time management at work.
