The speaker has 30 years of quality and operational experience in three multinational corporations, including 10 years as quality and operations manager for General Motors' Delphi Automotive System, 4 years as assistant vice president for the training and implementation of Six Sigma Black Belt and Master Black Belt across GE Business, and 17 years as senior general manager for implementing Lean and Six Sigma in operations across Toyota Distributions.

He discussed the usage of quality control and quality systems by manufacturing companies all over the world, particularly notably Toyota Motors of Japan. The following QMS subjects were covered by him: TQM, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, Lean Manufacturing, JIT Management, and QC, SQC, and TQM. He's described PDCA. The acronym PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) is related to W. Edwards Deming, who is widely regarded as the originator of contemporary quality assurance. top 10 MBA colleges in Bangalore

Deming changed PDCA to "Plan, Do, Study, Act" (PDSA) later in his career because he believed that "check" placed more emphasis on inspection than analysis. The know-how transfer process model and other models were made using the PDSA cycle. MBA business analytics Bangalore

Total quality management (TQM) is a broad philosophy that steadily enhances a company's operations. Every employee and business partner participating in the process applies thorough process analysis to achieve this. TQM is typically implemented at the tactical, front-line level, where production, support staff, and low-level managers play a significant role. Several tools are available to support a TQM endeavor., such as

  • Benchmarking
  • Failure analysis
  • Plan-do-check-act (PDCA) cycle
  • Process management
  • Product design control
  • Statistical process control

A Q&A session followed the presentation to end it. For the senior PGDM students who are about to enter the corporate world, it was a really helpful workshop. MBA Bangalore
